This course explains the meaning of permanence in care planning and provides information about the legalities behind it. It also describes the different permanence options that exist and explains the methods that can be used with children, young people, and families in the adoption and permanence planning process.
The learning objectives are as follows:
To understand the concept of permanence in the context of care planning and promote the healthy emotional, cognitive, and physical development of children
To describe the legal framework for permanence planning
To describe the range of permanence options for children, including maintaining children safely within their own families
To explore methods of engaging children and their families in the planning process
To ensure plans for children and young people are based on their individual needs
This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
