Young asylum-seekers are among the most vulnerable groups of children and young people in care. This is largely due to their experience of war and conflict, as well as adapting to a new environment, usually unable to speak English. This course will enable learners to understand the needs of unaccompanied asylum-seeking children (UASC) in more detail.

The learning objectives are as follows:

  • To know what the term UASC means
  • To understand why children come to the UK unaccompanied
  • To be aware of the legal status of UASC
  • To understand the needs of UASC
  • To know the role of the carer

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.

Should you have 5 or more learners requiring this training please consider the face to face option we offer.
