This course aims to increase understanding of diabetes in terms of the young people in your care. Diabetes describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin or both.
The learning objectives for this course are as follows:
To understand the condition better
To learn how to support children who suffer from this condition
To learn how to support parents as partners
This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
