This course outlines the various types of eating disorders that young people may suffer from, how to recognise these conditions, and how to support young people.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

• To understand the different types of eating disorders
• To be able to describe the different types of eating disorders and know how to spot the signs
• To outline the assessment and management of eating disorders, particularly anorexia and bulimia nervosa, in Child Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)
• To discuss the role of Tier 1 professionals and how to refer to CAMHS
• To explore the various support tools for young people in relation to eating disorders

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
