Fabricated or induced illnesses are a highly contentious form of child abuse.
The guidance is clear that while this type of child abuse can be challenging, there is a need for a calm and objective assessment of the needs of the child and the ability of the carer to protect them.
In this course, learners can find out more about the causes of such “illnesses”, the law and guidance surrounding them, and what good practice looks like.
