Description & Learning objectives

This course is a comprehensive guide to working with children and young people with learning disabilities. The different causes and types of learning disabilities are explained in detail and there is helpful advice on how to identify a learning disability in a child or young person. The course also covers how to communicate with and support children with learning disabilities.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  • To know the different types of learning disabilities
  • To understand the different causes of learning disabilities
  • To know how to identify young people with a learning disability
  • To be aware of non-verbal and verbal communication
