Given the emphasis on schools in supporting children and young people's mental health, increased interest has focused on the benefits of peer support in schools, as well as school-based counselling.
These forms of intervention are in line with policy initiatives by focusing on the role of early intervention and prevention of the development of mental health problems. Both of these forms of intervention will be discussed in more details throughout this module.
