This course is a comprehensive guide to understanding the Panel and its processes for prospective foster carers. The course breaks down the role of each Panel member, explains their roles, and then takes a look at relevant legislation to the process. This course also references personal bias and its impact on our opinions, prejudices, and the ability to care for others.

To learn about roles and responsibilities
To examine how someone’s own values and attitudes may affect their work on panels
To clarify the national legal framework for panels, and develop familiarity with the
Fostering Services Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Standards 2011
To consider how applicants experience panels
To understand how to develop effective working relationships
