This course is a guide to minute taking during panel meetings. The course identifies the main features of minute writing, as well as the need for good recording in foster panels. Additionally, the course will highlight the main tasks of a minute taker and what skills they should possess in order to write efficiently.

The learning objectives are as follows:

• To understand the need for good recording in foster panels

• To know who is the minute taker

• To know the minutes of a foster panel

• To be aware of the mechanics of minute writing

• To understand what happens after the fostering panel is finished

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.
