This course is focused on the importance of building a firm foundation within our environments and relationships with children and young people. It looks to secure and promote an individual’s sense of being, self-worth, and value – which in turn improves development, progress, and achievement.

The main learning objectives of the course are as follows:

  1. To identify and understand why an individual may struggle with poor self-esteem and identity
  2. To explore and examine the impact of relationships and life experiences on self-esteem and identity (impact on brain development and capacity to build future relationships) and how this can relate to mental health difficulties
  3. To understand how to support an individual struggling with their identity
  4. To identify ways to promote and improve positive self-esteem

This course meets the Training, Support, and Development Standards as outlined in The Fostering Services (England) Regulations 2011.

Upon booking this course, we will discuss the learning objectives and outcomes you wish to achieve based on the young people in your care.
